Everyone I've talked to who took the time to watch the Veronica Mars series finale night has been absolutely shocked at poorly everything was wrapped up.  Seriously, everyone knows there is more story to be had, and everybody wants that story told.  Rob Thomas, creator of the now defunct show, responded to the question of "Will we ever find out how you would've ended the show?" with this:

"I'm not entirely sure how/when VM would've ended, but I wouldn't discount my taking a stab at a feature script."

Yeah right.  Everytime any cult-popular show gets axed by money hungry studio bigwigs, the show's creator starts mouthing off about how sometime in the future a feature film will tie up all the loose ends (see today's story about a Gilmore Girls film).  No one watched Veronica Mars on television so why would anyone watch it on the big screen?

What's even more obnoxious is Ausiello comparing this to Serenity, the Firefly film that was loved by everyone who liked Firefly but seen by no one else.  Sure, you can blame that on a rabid fanbase that actually scared people out of theatres, but also because the show didn't have a big enough fanbase.  In the aftermath of that debacle, I can't believe that any studio will front Rob Thomas money to bring a cancelled show to the big screen.
