The counterterrorist unit is getting crowded.

Fox has announced that Babe and LA Confidential actor James Cromwell and British comedian Eddie Izzard will appear in season six of the Emmy-winning series 24. The series has already added Kal Penn, Peter MacNichol, Regina King, Marisol Nichols, and Harry Lennix to the cast next season.

Cromwell will play Philip Bauer, father to terrorist-fighting federal agent Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland). Cromwell has recently appeared in HBO's Six Feet Under and is currently filming Spider Man 3.

Izzard will play the role of a "villanous accomplice" whom Bauer will hunt and torture. The British comedian, who is known for dressing up in elaborate drag costumes during his stand-up comedy shows, recently played the villain in the Ivan Reitman film My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
