News > "Lost" to confound viewers until 2010

ABC has allowed the producers of "Lost" to set a definite end date for the show -- three years from now, in 2010.

The show will shoot 48 more episodes that will produce three mini seasons (16 episodes each) and the last episode, #119, will air during the 2009-2010 television season.

A definite end date is fairly unprecedented for a network show and is close to how series for the BBC broadcast, though "macro mini series" like "Twin Peaks" and "Wild Palms" had finite endings as well.

Thankfully, the 16-episode arcs will air in a row, without reruns. This plan is so crazy, it might work.

Show creator J.J. Abrams agrees: '"It takes real foresight and guts to make a call like this. I applaud ABC and Touchstone for making this happen."'

Ok, so while you're changing stuff, less flashbacks. They have been almost entirely bad this season. Also, something you might already be doing, but...kill Jack please. Thanks.
