They should change the name of CW's new Supergirl television show to 'A Parade of Washed-Up Former Superhero Actors'.  First it was announced that Dean Cain (the one-and-done Superman of 'Lois and Clark' (a show only watchable because of Teri Hatcher's, er, 'acting skills')) would make an appearance in the fourth episode.   And now this:

Former Supergirl Helen Slater will appear in the sixth episode of the series as the new Supergirl's (Laura Vandervoort) aunt.  The old 'Supergirl' wasn't my bag of tricks, but Helen Slater has managed to turn in to quite the hot older lady.  Hopefully, this show can avoid some of the cheesy pitfalls it's predecessor 'Smallville' continues to stumble in to (bad acting, the same storyline over and over and over again, Tom Welling) and actually be an entertaining show.  But the combination of the estrogenized-Supergirl and it's appearance on the CW bodes poorly for it.

Though Laura Vandervoort is a pretty decent reason to tune in at least once.
