Dashing any rumors about executive producer Doug Liman directing, Steve Shill has been announced as the director of the upcoming NBC pilot for Knight Rider.

A two-hour movie-style event that will premiere later this season according to . No further elaboration on how the updated show will be handled,especially after early reports of a more "Transformers" type of story--hinting that there may be a number of cars like KITT and the classic KARR counterpart.

No announcements on who would play the "Michael Knight" character, or if the show will follow a continuation on the story as the previous TV-movies had.
