Tyler Perry seems to be exceptional at making people watch things that are not reviewed well. His new show (as executive producer, not actor) TBS's House of Payne earned 5.2 million viewers at 9:00 with 5.8 by 9:30, a record for cable sitcoms. The show revolves around a fire chief whose crack-addicted wife burned down the family home, forcing the fireman to move his family in with his parents. As mentioned before, the have been largely negative, but Perry has managed to sell TBS not the standard 13 episodes, but ONE HUNDRED EPISODES. I guess the gamble worked out on the part of TBS as they seem to have a hit on their hands.
