News > Doctor Who Series 4 Rumors

June 29, 2007

Just in case this rumor turns out to be true, its implications might slightly spoil what little remains of Doctor Who series 3. Consider yourself warned.

With the season finale quickly approaching, the rumor mill has gone into overdrive: in the past few weeks, we've heard everything from "David Tennant is quitting" to "the show won't have a fourth season," and now we're being told that Freema Agyeman won't return as the Doctor's companion in the fourth season. FreemaAgyeman.com, an unofficial fan site, posts a newspaper clipping that reveals the following things:

-Freema will not be in the Christmas special
-The Doctor will get a new, surprising companion
-Kyle Minogue will feature heavily in the Christmas special (hopefully, she is not the aforementioned surprising companion)
-Freema might flit in and out of both Doctor Who and Torchwood as a recurring character, but not-quite regular cast member
-After next year, both Russell T. Davies and David Tennant will leave the show, thus negating pretty much any reason to watch it

This is the downside of being an entertainment reporter: as a fan of the show, I would do anything I had to do to avoid rumors/potential spoilers of this nature like the goddamn plague, but now it's my job to post this sort of stuff. Damnit.
