The Australian version that is. According to , Endemol Southern Star, the Australian production company behind Big Brother has apologized to Mexico for a stunt in which contestants threw water balloons at the Mexican flag. The Mexican government sent letters of protest saying that their flag had been "desecrated" on the program. Endemol Southern Star quickly sent off an apology letter saying, "The segment was intended as a lighthearted tribute to Mexico and its vibrant cultural heritage." You know, kind of like the exact opposite of burning someone in effigy.
 
Here's the . Looks like the balloons were filled with some sort of chili-colored water. I wonder if it's made any better by the fact that the flag is on backwards?
