It's so sad, but so true. The Sci Fi Channel's poster child, Battlestar Galactica, will not return after the 2008 season. There have been rumors bubbling for months about the fate of the show, so in essence the official Sci Fi channel announcement simply confirmed what we already knew. Still, this is a sad day. Galactica has been adored by millions, celebrated as a renaissance of true quality science fiction. The end does make sense, however, as the show certainly has a specific trajectory, with the end goal being annihilation or, well, Earth. Let's hope that they manage to achieve the latter by the end of next Spring. Edward James Olmos, the show's General Adama, has promised the most vicious, intense and spectacular season yet. Going out with a bang never hurt a soul, right?
