In terms of the DC Universe, Batman has always been the coolest.  A super-smart, well-trained, bad ass who uses only his wits (and a small army of gadgets) to fight the super-baddies of the world.  Couple that with his dangerously grim attitude, and the dark noir atmosphere the best of his writers surround him with, and you've got the coolest character in the DC ouevre.

With the success of last year's Batman Begins and the massive hype behind its sequel, The Dark Knight, DC is putting everything on the table including a new 'Batman: The Anime' television series.  Batman on Film is reporting that the six episode series will premiere in the weeks before the new Batman film, and will feature a revolving cast of writers for each film.  Some of the bigger names include Batman-guru David Goyer, A History of Violence's Josh Olsen, and noir-comic book god Brian Azzarello.

If it is even one millionth as cool as 'Batman: The Animated Series' I will be lined up at midnight alongside a cadre of other dorks, drooling for my copy.
