This is, perhaps, the happiest day of my life. Call me simple minded, but I have always had a soft place in my heart for the genius that is American Gladiators. Blade, Jade, Bronco, and Co. brought the noise and the pain every week. As a child I would fall asleep at night dreaming of the day that I would be able to run the gauntlet, joust with the dudes, and get tennis balls shot at my head with incredible velocity. i had some messed up dreams. That aside, I jumped for joy (seriously) when I read that NBC is planning on bringing the show back to its airwaves. Chances are good that it will not star the original "cast" of roided out ogres, but there's an abundance of all-American looking thugs these days anyway...perhaps Barry Bonds might be interested in joining the team...., the show will be revamped a bit, with more of an emphasis on reality content, behind-the-scenes back stories and all. That noted, we should all hope and pray that they don't screw this one up.
