News > 'Friday Night Lights' Gets Good News

NBC has asked for additional scripts of the critique-darling "Friday Night Lights."  Again, this doesn't mean that they're surely picking up the show for another season, but it is a huge step in the right direction.  There has been a crap load of debate over whether or not this great show was going to be selected for next season.  The show of course is a spin-off from the movie of the same title, and focuses on the lives and times of a smalltown Texas football team and the families and coaches who make it happen.

I've seen a few episodes and been utterly blown away by each, but also can see how "The King of Queen" watchers of America might poo-poo on it.  It's a little artsy, and doesn't stray away from edgy themes and hand-held camera work.  Basically it's a good show, with an interesting production style, and anything interesting these days gets spit on by the slowly-growing stupider American TV audience.

So, here's hoping this leads to another great season.
