Jonny Lee Miller has been tapped to play the title role in "Eli Stone," ABC's drama pilot from Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.

"Eli," produced by Touchstone Television and studio-based Berlanti Television, is a high-concept legal drama about a lawyer (Miller) who finds out he might be a prophet.

"Everwood" creator Berlanti and Guggenheim, a former corporate attorney who has worked on series like ABC's "The Practice," wrote "Eli" on spec. The two also are executive producing the project, which was picked up as a pilot by ABC in August (HR 8/4).

Miller, probably best known for his starring roles in the features "Trainspotting" and "Mansfield Park," was a regular on CBS' crime drama "Smith" this season.

His latest film, "The Flying Scotsman," premiered in August at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
