CBS has given a pilot order to "Fugly," a comedy from "My Name Is Earl" Emmy winner Greg Garcia.

The series focuses on three unattractive siblings from North Carolina who use their inheritance money to get elaborate plastic surgery for one. Then, according to The Hollywood Reporter, they head off to LA to try to profit off her good looks.

The "Fugly" script, set up at 20th Century Fox, began its life as a pilot for FOX and a potential starring vehicle for Pamela Anderson. When Anderson opted to sign on for "Stacked" instead, "Fugly" went back on the shelf.

CBS, which had a long and disturbingly successful relationship with Garcia during the endless run of "Yes, Dear," jumped on board.

This raises one simple question: Is a script by "My Name Is Earl" creator Greg Garcia automatically funnier than the same script by "Yes, Dear" creator Greg Garcia?

It also raises the question of whether the FCC's likely to take kindly to a show whose title is a contraction of "f***ing ugly."

In any case, Garcia hopes to produce the pilot in March after season two or "Earl" comes to an end.
