Laguna Beach is dead. The voyeuristic look into the lives of teenagers with waaay too much money and waaaay too-active libidos has officially received the axe from MTV. Before you all breathe that collective sigh of relief, however, pause to consider the following. The shows creators and production team seem to be unwilling to let the damn thing die. They have stated that they will continue to support the show "virtually," with an online Laguna Beach game destined to take the place of the actual show. It seems that rapidly declining ratings coupled with a complete lack of intelligent interest in the show does not equal full cancellation, as much as we might all like to think that it should. We have no idea how the online game functions, and we'd like to keep it that way. Just know that we do not approve. Not at all. In other news, MTV has begun casting and pre-production work on another "unique" reality drama set in Newport Beach. Good God, guys. Let it go, please.
