Reality TV > The Governator Pimps A Green Ride

I'm a card carrying Democrat, always have been, always will, but there's something about Governor Schwarzenegger that always makes me smile.  I don't know if it's the fact the Terminator 2 is my favorite action film of all time, or that he peppers his political speeches with references to his old movies, or that I really know nothing about his political agenda and am just happy that he continues to pepper his political speeches with hilarious quotes from his movies.

And now the Govehnator has stepped his game up one more notch by announcing that he'll be on an episode of MTV's "Pimp My Ride." The Xzibit-hosted series will pimp a '65 Impala, but instead of littering it with turntables, roman columns, and 40 inch plasma screens, they'll be performing "one-of-a-kind ecological alteration", adding an 800 pound bio-diesel engine.  Schwarzy will appear on the special Earth Day (April 22) episode to pontificate about the beauty of going green and push a little bit for his 2008 re-election campaign.

Governor S. issued a statement saying,

"I would like to thank MTV and the entire Pimp My Ride crew for shining the spotlight on the importance of alternative fuels and the fight against global warming. I am very encouraged by the great potential in converting vehicles to run on biodiesel as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  I am pleased that the power of MTV's message will reach an audience throughout California and the nation to reinforce the benefits of alternative-fuel vehicles and protecting our environment."

On a similar note, why hasn't MTV or BET or one of these fake music networks dedicated a show to completely and totally pimping out a car in an environmentally friendly way?  As our world slowly melts away under a barrage of pollution and Republican-tinkering, it seems like a show explaining how to keep your car ballin' while keeping the environment alive and thriving would draw a great audience as well as do something good for the Earth.
