The investigative reporter that the world loves to hate is bidding farewell to his television network home. Stone Phillips, perennial Dateline anchor has been released from his contract with NBC. Mr. Phillips, or "Stoney" as I like to call him, has been with the network for over 15 years. Phillips got his start impersonating Barbara Walters and has never looked back. Most recently Stone served as host of NBC's popular muckraking bastion of integrity-filled journalism, Dateline. It's always nice to see a tenured employee getting the axe. No one is safe. NO ONE. Good riddance, Stone Phillips. If anyone wants to start a pool for how long it will take Stone Phillips to become the subject of another network's investigation about an illicit gambling ring, please contact me immediately.
