After the success of its first season on MTV, the TV series "Yo Momma" has been picked up by the U.S. cable network for a third season on the air.
The series, which features contestants using mother jokes as a weapon, had been optioned by MTV for a third season prior to Monday's launch of the comedy's second season, said The New York Daily News.
"I knew when I created the show, it was going to at least create some cult following," said former "That '70s Show" star and "Yo Momma" creator, Wilmer Valderrama. "I'm very excited the show became a massive hit."
The series' second season, which was shot in New York, has introduced the use of several popular rappers, a development which Valderrama said is but the tip of the iceberg for the comedy.
"I have big plans for the show," the 26-year-old told the Daily News. "It's a brand that can franchise and be part of the pop culture for awhile."
