Don Imus' "Nappy Headed Ho" comment about black players on the women's Rutger's basketball team have cost his radio show major sponsors. Proctor & Gamble and Staples, among others, have pulled their cash from his show. GM and American Express are keeping their cash in the show though they promise to monitor the show closely from now on.
Many in the black community have called for Imus to be dismissed. Among the people calling for dismissal is fellow NBC employee Al Roker, whose column, "Not In My House," who believes Imus' words are "racism and sexism at its worst."
