Reality TV > Criss Angel Likes Himself Some Publicity Stunts

May 24, 2007

Written by Anthony Burch
USA Today reports that Criss Angel, star of A&E's Mindfreak, will suspend himself, in the air, in a glass box encased in concrete. He'll also be handcuffed. Assumedly, Criss will escape from the box and climb to the ground below using a rope. Should he fail to escape in 24 hours, the box will come crashing down, no doubt effing up Criss's ess.

The stunt begins June 4, the day before the debut of Mindfreak's third season. Nobody's claiming the timing is a coincidence, but Angel -- who looks like an emo Lance Burton -- fired off some ridiculously faux-mysterious platitudes like "If you're not scared of death, what is there to fear" before taking jabs at David Blaine and declaring himself "the best in the world today."

You know what they say about pride, Criss. And you know what they say about people who change their names so the phonetic pronunciation remains the same but with different spelling.
