Remembered best for his game show appearances in the 1970s and 1980s, and perhaps more remembered by young people for Alec Baldwin's portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live, comic actor Charles Nelson Reilly died this weekend in Los Angeles at the age of seventy-six.

Notable for being one of the few openly gay performers of his generation, Reilly was a Tony award-winner who had also garnered several Emmy nominations for his long, distinguished television career. Isn't it amazing how game shows can erase prestige?
