Singer Aaron Carter popped the question to his girlfriend in front of about 200 people last weekend.
Luckily, she said yes, and the singer-actor is now the proud fiancee to Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche, reports People.
"I don't remember it happening. It was such a blur," says Peniche about Saturday's (Sept. 16) proposal in Las Vegas during the Playboy Comedy Tour at the Palms Casino Resort. "I had no idea he was going to do this, but I'm glad he did."
Peniche, 22, previously dated Carter's older brother Nick, of the Backstreet Boys, but that didn't stop her from taking up with the younger sibling, whom she eventually fell for.
"Aaron is the most genuine person I know," she says. "He's kind, loving, and I love him so much."
The happy couple is planning to get hitched in the next six months.
Peniche was named Miss United States Teen in 2003 but later lost the title after posing nude in Playboy's November 2004 issue.
Carter, 18, will star in E!'s upcoming reality show "House of Carters" premiering in October. In the weekly series, Aaron, big brother Nick, twin sister Angel, and sisters Leslie and Bobbie Jean will move in together and plan their futures.
The Carter family has created its share headlines: mom Jane Carter's arrest on a battery charge; her bitter divorce from Bob Carter; at age 16, Aaron's peitition for legal emancipation from his manager/mother; Nick's arrest for drunk driving; and Bobbie Jean's arrest for assault.
Aaron Carter is also notorious for allegedly starting the celebrity feud between Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff by dating both of them back in the day.
Carter sold more than 1.5 million copies of his 2000 album "Aaron's Party" and released his latest album "Come and Get It: The Very Best of Aaron Carter" in January.
His acting credits include a guest stint on "7th Heaven" and roles in "Fat Albert," "Supercross," the direct-to-video "Popstar" and the indie "I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With."
