"Project Runway" judge Nina Garcia is looking forward to the spring, but not for its fashions.

The Elle magazine fashion director and her husband, David Conrod, are expecting their first child together in March, reports People.

"This baby must have some amazing fashion sense, waiting until empire waists and volume came back into fashion," says Garcia, making reference to the high-waisted style that allows for ample room around a woman's midsection.

"Project Runway" is no stranger to maternity wear. Host Heidi Klum has appeared on the show pregnant as well as third season finalist Laura Bennett.

"I am convinced there is something in the Project Runway water," Garcia says. "Heidi knows and is very excited for me. We will have lots to talk about next year."

Even though she'll be cutting it close, Garcia still plans on attending New York City's Fashion Week in February. "I am due in March, so I'll be able to attend the shows in New York but will have to miss Milan and Paris," she explains. "Somehow, I don't think my baby will mind one bit."

Garcia, 41, is one of the three regular judges, along with Klum and designer Michael Kors, on "Project Runway," which just concluded its third season by naming the rock 'n' roll-inspired Jeffrey Sebelia as the top designer.

She is currently finishing up her book, "The Little Black Book of Style," which will hit bookshelves in May.
