You ready to hear about some truly original, groundbreaking reality television from the creators of American Idol?
Well, tough shit. It appears that the producers of American Idol will follow up their hit TV sensation with...a show identical to American Idol in almost every conceivable way.
reports that The Search for the Next American Band will be identical to Idol (a talent competition, rounds where contestants are forced to perform certain styles of music, etc) except for the fact that (A) the show will revolve around bands instead of individuals and (B) the show will evidently delve more deeply into the contestants' personal lives.
Because if there's anything we need more of, it's pointless biographical stuff about vapid wannabes. I know I'm aching for Sanjaya's autobiography.
