Ah, life makes sense again now that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie have renewed the definition of BFF. Yes, America's favorite fish-out-of-water celebutantes are no longer on the outs.
The gal pal couple first tipped off the media when they were seen at West Hollywood eatery Dan Tana's Sunday night (Oct. 8), report various celebrity news sources.
On a video on TMZ.com, the pair arrived at the restaurant and ignored the reporters before entering. Approximately an hour and a half later, the two emerged and were hounded by even more reporters who were tipped off about the momentous reconciliation.
Hilton and Richie kept mainly to themselves, sitting on a bench and texting. When one reporter asked if Paris had fun at a birthday celebration, which could refer to her sister Nicky's birthday party in Las Vegas on Friday, Hilton responded, "Yes." They then climbed into Hilton's Range Rover and drove away, reportedly for a sleepover at Paris' home.
The media has speculated about the cause of the initial rift, with many claiming that Richie had played Hilton's infamous sex tape at a party.
E!, which picked up the duo's show "The Simple Life" after FOX chucked it, should be thrilled. Although the two women were on the show last season, they taped their segments separately -- moving in with a family and taking on the role of wife and mother. The cable channel has already renewed the show for another season, and this new development bodes well for the upcoming show concept.
